Collection: Viva Collection

Viva is the opening project from Atelier Oficio, formerly Dreaming with Isa.

Many of you have been loyal customers of 'Dreaming' (as we called it informally) over the past 5 years, and I'm happy to welcome you to its reincarnation: Oficio.

Meaning 'craft' in my native Portuguese, Oficio is a word carrying great meaning and importance for me, especially at this pivotal point in my life and creative journey.

Craft, by definition, refers to the art of making something with technique and skill. Atelier Oficio and the new Viva Collection represent craft on every level, and are symbolic of my desire to take my focus from dreaming to making... and living. Viva!

Starting with the Viva Collection, Oficio will continually honour what I love most - the appreciation of beautiful things, impeccable handmade workmanship, and making a positive impact - through such beautiful crafts as painting, weaving, embroidering, writing, architecture and of course fashion.

I created this collection during my last visit home to Brazil, where, looking through my old notebooks and clothing from my past, I found a very special dress I designed and made when I was just 18. The Passaro dress - the flagship item in the Viva Collection - is a reimagining of that charming 70s inspired dress I made so many years ago. It's timeless, versatile, rather unique and feels simply wonderful to wear.

To bring my vision for the Viva Collection to life, I worked with my talented friend Sandra, the very best seamstress I know, who hand-crafted this small production to a standard very few can achieve.

I hope you love this new collection as much as I do. Enjoy!
